






GEFREITER'S PARADE JACKET. (Paraderock) Superb complete set to a Gefreiter.
Nice quality, waist length, Bolero or Spencer style, simulated double breasted,
navy blue doeskin wool construction parade jacket with open peak lapels, and lay
down collar. Jacket features two, vertical, parallel rows of nine ornanamental
silver fouled anchor buttons to front breast panels. Each side of the vertical
front opening has nine stitched button eyelets, with only the top button eyelet
actually cut open to receive buttons. Jacket was designed to remain open with a
retaining shackle chain with buttons at either end, worn through the top cut-out
button eyelets. Chained closure buttons are present. Left breast has two
horizontal thread loops for wear of an award. Straight cut, non-adjustable,
sleeves have Brandenburg style cuffs with a horizontal panel at bottom edge and
a small vertical panel to forward edge with five vertically aligned ornamental
silver fouled anchor buttons. Upper left sleeve has the rank of gefrieter in
yellow wool handstitched,measuring three and one half inches across by four and
one half inches in length. Peak lapels each have a closed stitched button eyelet
with a corresponding ornamental button positioned on the breast at the juncture
of the lapels and lay down collar. Jacket has no shoulder boards or collar tabs
as per regulations. Interior of jacket is fully lined in black. Lining has a
horizontal slash pocket on the left side. Lining is well marked with red
inkstamped markings consisting of "B.A.K. 10.5.07 and a 2 underneath the
previous listed numbers", within a "boxy" "T" shaped border. Inkstamp
signifies,Bekleidungsamt ( Clothing Depot) K ( not sure which depot K
represents) with issue date of May 10, 1907. Below these makrkings are futher
red inkstamps I.W.2.A. under this is the number 3499. with a red inkstamp line
with the number 09.The number indicates that he was the 3499th person to enter
naval service in 1909 The white tag is handstitched below these markings and has
the owners name in black applied to it "Muller Paul". Jacket is in overall very
good condition with minor nap wear to cuffs and collar edges and light age and
usage toning. All the buttons are the fire gilted alloy type with embossed
fouled anchor on a horizontally ribbed field with simulated twisted rope outer
border. Buttons all appear to have original stitching. Jacket is roughly size
40" chest.
SAILOR'S "DONALD DUCK" CAP. (Mannschaftshaftsmutze) "Donald Duck" style sailor’s
cap constructed of deep navy blue doeskin wool. Cap has a non-removable, one
piece, circular crown and two piece side panels with machine stitched vertical
seams to each side. Int Front upper portion of cap has the national cockade with
minor paint chipping. Cap has a black silk cap talley with machine woven "S.M.S.
BREMEN, insilver threads. Cap talley is secured to the cap by a twisted vertical
threads to each side and an additional two to reverse. Cap talley has triangular
folds at reverse seam and extended "tails" with diagonally cut ends creating the
swallow tail effect. Cap talley is in very good condition. Interior of cap is
fully lined in black. Interior also has a full tan leather sweatband which has
been handstitched showing wear. As with the uniform, the hat is well marked. Red
inkstamped markings consisting of B.A.K. 5.11.14 in a red "T" shaped box, issue
date of November 5, 1914 with handpainted IW2A underneath that is the number
9487 handpainted as well. Also present is the white tage handstitched into the
top of the hat liner with the owners name in black"Muller Paul". Hat is in
overall very good condition
PANTS (Hose) Nice quality, standard issue long pants are constructed of a deep
navy blue doeskin wool. Pants feature a unique front closure in the form of a
horizontal, rectangular front yoke panel with four stitched button eyelets to
top edge at waistband. Front yoke panel folds down from waistband revealing two
small inner panels with two vertically aligned buttons and corresponding button
holes. For secure closure the vertically aligned inner buttons would be button
first then the front yoke panel would be buttoned up on the waistband. Right
side inner panel has a patch watch pocket with horizontal slash opening. Pants
have two slightly diagonally angled slash front pockets which would also been
hidden by the front yoke panel. Reverse of pants have a small V spacer located
in the middle of the waistband with two eyelets on either side, through which
black heavy duty tring is run in order to tighten the pants Pants have straight
legs and have been hemmed. Interior waistband lining and pocket bags are all
constructed in white cotton.The hidden butons are the black bakalite style
whereas the visibile buttons are metal bluish in colour with some mior surface
rust "KAISERLICHE MARINE". As wi the other items in this grouping the pants are
well marked. On the right hand side in the white cotton is machinepainted in red
are the numbers I.W.2.A under which appears to be 3699 with a red line and the
number 09. In addition are the markings B.A.W. 1.6.10 under that 4 to the right
of the four a M in a box all within a "T" shaped box, all in thin black ink. The
B.A.W markings reprsent the Clothing Depot At Wilhelmshaven, date of issue being
June 1, 1910. Again the white tag is present, hand stitched by the markings and
in black has the owners name" Muller Paul"
Pullover Shirt White cotton short sleeved pullover shirt. Blue tape machine
stitched around the neck opening. On the right hand sleeve is a handstitched
green diamond of unknown purpose
